Problems with tying up come from two
different sources. In order to treat them effectively, we need to
know the difference.
Either way, the solution is sublimely simple. What the horse needs to do is re-discover how to stand still, without being forced into it. Through talking to the horse in the language he understands, trust and confidence are restored without reprimand, force or restraint. The horse learns, or re-learns that no harm comes from tying up and can be safely tied up again! Read more in "What to do about Tying up" Buy with confidence. A potted biography! Started riding at the age of 10. Trained my first horse at the age of 14. Gave my first riding lesson at the age of 15. Started problem solving some 10 years later and have been doing it ever since! Have also spent many years in pursuit of other activities, such as gymkhana, the 3 disciplines, long distance trekking, driving etc. In fact, I have probably done almost everything it's possible to do with horses - except round up cattle on the open range. I'd love to do that!
