When the horse misbehaves, the first thing we have to ask ourselves is "Why is he doing it?"

When we know the answer, what to do makes sense.  Then, we have to know what to do and how to do it.

The format is simple.  "Why does he do it?" is simply explained in a sentence or two, and followed by "The Remedy" for each of the following behaviors:

Refusing to go forward

Spinning round

Spooking

Head-shaking

Pulling

Leaning on the bit

Bucking

Rearing

A potted biography!  Started riding at the age of 10.  Trained my first horse at the age of 14.  Gave my first riding lesson at the age of 15.  Started problem solving some 10 years later and have been doing it ever since!

Have also spent many years in pursuit of other activities, such as gymkhana, the 3 disciplines, long distance trekking, driving etc.  In fact, I have probably done almost everything it's possible to do with horses - except round up cattle on the open range.  I'd love to do that!
