The Art of Solving Problems with Horses First, a simple exercise ... A large part of the problem we have with our horses is what goes on in our own mind, like the blocks we create and the fears, anxieties and worries we have. What often seems like the impossible is the simple act of doing things differently. So this, and the next exercise are about discovering that doing things differently isn't so hard after all. All you are going to do is change the way you catch the horse and put the head-collar on ... so follow the directions and away you go ... But first ... print out this page and take it with you, so you can either refer to it just before you get started. Make sure you have completely understood what to do, before you start ... not that it's hard, but a reminder before you start is always a good idea!

1. First, put the rope round the horse's neck. |

2. Stand by the side of
the horse and put the head-collar on.
You can either hold the rope while you're doing this, or loop it round his neck. |

3. ... and away you go! |

How easy is that?? When you have completed the task, answer these 3 questions: What did it feel like to it differently? Did you get a a sense of satisfaction from achieving your goal? Do you now feel you could do some other things differently - as long as they're not too hard?? If you have any questions, or would like to tell me about your success (or failure!) feel free to send me an email:
