More about me!

My name is Ruth Mazet.  I have been studying equine behaviour ever since I can remember.  Even as a child, I was fascinated by what horses do and why they do it.

I was even more fascinated by what we have come to call 'problem behavior'.  When a horse didn't do what I wanted, I found I knew how to gain his trust and confidence, and win him round to my way of thinking.

It is now my belief that ALL horses have the capacity to be quiet, obedient and well-behaved - even the impossibly difficult ones.  It's simply amazing just how far a bit of remedial therapy can go!

Why me?

After about 35 years of working with problem horses, I've seen pretty much everything the horse can throw at us!

Borne of a life-time of working with horses, my approach is purely instinctive. I put myself in the horse's shoes and see the world from his point of view.

By thinking like a horse and working with the his own instincts and inclinations, I make it easy for the horse to learn.  And by using "achievable targets", breaking the process down into the smallest possible parts, or stages, success is built on success.

Each horse is treated as an individual, building up trust and confidence by working in slow, easy stages.  Horses differ in their temperament, aptitude and ability, so each one must be understood and treated according to his needs and nature.

What I want is their willing co-operation.  Once I have that, I find he will do anything for me and there is no such thing as a problem any more!
